The Opportunity:

As an Exams Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and secure administration of internal and external examinations. This is a key position that supports the school's commitment to academic excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and train invigilators, ensuring they are up to date with rules and regulations
  • Organise invigilator schedules and record working hours for payroll submission
  • Oversee the examination entry process, ensuring accurate and timely student entries
  • Prepare examination timetables, seating plans, and brief candidates, staff, and parents
  • Handle access arrangements in collaboration with the SENCo and manage emergency provisions
  • Administer examination days in accordance with awarding body regulations and manage any irregularities
  • Manage examination results by downloading and securely distributing them to students
  • Issue examination certificates and deal with post-results services

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English at 4-9 (A*-C)
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience in an Exams Officer role or related field
  • Familiarity with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements
  • Experience with managing access arrangements for students with special educational needs
