The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Assistant Principal responsible for Behaviour and Attendance to lead and shape the pastoral development of the school. This role is ideal for an ambitious leader who is committed to fostering a culture of excellence in behaviour and attendance, ensuring that all students can thrive in a supportive and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the school’s behaviour management strategy across all year groups.
  • Oversee and improve attendance rates through targeted interventions and support.
  • Work closely with year leaders, the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and the Targeted Support Lead to ensure high standards in pastoral care.
  • Develop and implement policies that promote a consistent and positive behaviour culture.
  • Support students, staff, and families through pastoral care initiatives and external partnerships.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour and attendance strategies.
  • Provide professional development and guidance to staff on behaviour and attendance best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and attendance improvement techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience in developing and implementing school-wide policies.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational organisation.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support systems.
  • Familiarity with teaching and learning frameworks aligned with inclusive and Christian values.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
