The Opportunity:
As an Attendance Improvement Officer, you will play a key role in promoting excellent student attendance and punctuality. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to support a positive culture of learning and attendance. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor student attendance records using systems such as Arbor
- Liaise with students, parents, and staff to address attendance issues and support improvement
- Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance and punctuality
- Provide guidance and support to students and families to overcome barriers to attendance
- Collaborate with the pastoral team to ensure a consistent approach to attendance management
- Attend meetings and training sessions to stay up to date with best practices in attendance improvement
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the school’s attendance system
- Promote a positive and inclusive attitude towards attendance across the school community
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience of working with children and parents in a school setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Experience of using and maintaining an attendance management system such as Arbor
- Flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic and supportive team
Preferred
- Experience in a school attendance or pastoral role
- Knowledge of attendance improvement strategies and best practices
- Experience with student welfare and support programs
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
