The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Improvement Officer, you will play a key role in promoting excellent student attendance and punctuality. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to support a positive culture of learning and attendance. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor student attendance records using systems such as Arbor
  • Liaise with students, parents, and staff to address attendance issues and support improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve attendance and punctuality
  • Provide guidance and support to students and families to overcome barriers to attendance
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team to ensure a consistent approach to attendance management
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to stay up to date with best practices in attendance improvement
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the school’s attendance system
  • Promote a positive and inclusive attitude towards attendance across the school community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience of working with children and parents in a school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Experience of using and maintaining an attendance management system such as Arbor
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within a dynamic and supportive team

Preferred

  • Experience in a school attendance or pastoral role
  • Knowledge of attendance improvement strategies and best practices
  • Experience with student welfare and support programs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting
