The Opportunity:

As an HR Officer inc. Cover Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s HR functions and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on staff and student experiences within a forward-thinking institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee records.
  • Support the Cover Coordinator role by managing staff cover and absence procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the Business Administration Team and wider school community.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with HR standards.
  • Support staff with queries and provide guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR practices and employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in HR or administration, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in using HR management systems and office software.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience with staff cover coordination or absence management.
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience working in a school or academy environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: £33,699 - £38,220 FTE.
  • Term-time plus inset days, plus 10 days annual leave.
