The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Care and Education Support Worker to join their team. This role combines educational support with personal care and leadership responsibilities, making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in developing life skills, social interaction, and independence.
- Provide personal and intimate care, including assistance with toileting, feeding, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect.
- Mentor and guide other support staff, ensuring high standards of care and support.
- Plan and coordinate support for students with physical disabilities.
- Liaise with external specialists to ensure smooth transitions and staff training.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to up-to-date documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with individuals with learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities in an education or care setting.
- A relevant Level 2 qualification (e.g., health and social care, education, or a related field).
- A proactive, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting young adults with complex needs.
- Leadership potential with the ability to inspire and guide colleagues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a positive and collaborative mindset.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a care or education setting.
- Familiarity with digital tools for record-keeping and communication.
