The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ academic and personal development. You will be responsible for managing tutor groups, providing 1:1 guidance, and ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed. This is a chance to make a real impact on young people’s lives in a supportive and progressive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a number of tutor groups, ensuring students receive consistent pastoral care.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group tutorials, including induction, ILPs, UCAS, and WEX guidance.
  • Monitor student progress and report on compliance and support needs.
  • Participate in tutorial sessions across multiple groups, sharing expertise and best practice.
  • Support the Pastoral Leads in improving overall health and wellbeing services.
  • Address student concerns and help manage behavioural and attendance issues.
  • Promote positive mental health and encourage student engagement in appropriate activities.
  • Complete Advanced Safeguarding training and contribute to a culture of student safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Education to at least Level 3, with a preference for degree-level qualifications.
  • Completion or willingness to complete Advanced Safeguarding training.
  • Strong interest in student wellbeing and health.
  • Experience in student support or pastoral care.

Preferred

  • Mental Health First Aid training.
  • Experience in delivering tutorials or academic guidance.
  • Background in education or youth work.
