The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our Lower School on a maternity cover contract. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners while contributing to a supportive and high-achieving academic community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences at KS2 level.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Work closely with colleagues to support the school’s mission and values.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum requirements and student needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Participate in school events and activities that contribute to the overall school community.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Support the pastoral care of students within the form group.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience at KS2 level.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar independent or preparatory school setting.
  • Familiarity with the Girls’ Schools Association or similar organisations.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required.
