The Opportunity:

As a Senior English Progress Leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving academic success and shaping the future of students in English and English Literature. This is an opportunity to lead, innovate, and inspire in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English team, ensuring high standards in teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve attainment, particularly for disadvantaged and vulnerable students.
  • Oversee the Reading strategy and use of the Learning Resource Centre.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in English departments.
  • Support student well-being and provide guidance on educational and social matters.
  • Promote innovative and effective approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Facilitate collaboration and professional development within the English team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status and strong subject knowledge in English.
  • Proven ability to motivate students and deliver outstanding lessons.
  • Experience in leading and managing a teaching team.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment strategies.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing Reading strategies.
  • Background in supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Experience in safeguarding and promoting student well-being.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
