The Opportunity:

A Cleaning Operative is needed to support the upkeep and maintenance of a school environment. This role involves general and deep cleaning across various areas of the site, ensuring a clean and welcoming atmosphere for students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general and deep cleaning tasks across the school site as required.
  • Sanitise high-traffic and sensitive areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Process waste and recycling in line with the school's environmental policies.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment in classrooms, common areas, and other designated spaces.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and report any issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a consistent standard of cleanliness.
  • Adhere to the school’s policies and procedures at all times.
  • Assist with any additional cleaning duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in cleaning and maintenance roles, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to undertake child protection screening and relevant background checks.

Preferred

  • Experience with cleaning in a school or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to work during term time and possibly on weekends or evenings.
  • Previous experience with waste management or recycling processes.
