Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and international standards.
  • Foster a passion for technology and problem-solving among students through engaging and interactive teaching methods.
  • Support students in achieving outstanding academic results, including in IGCSE, GCSE, and A Level examinations.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the school’s leadership and enrichment programs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting their overall well-being and development.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in Computer Science and integrate them into the curriculum.
  • Work with students from diverse backgrounds, including those for whom English is not their first language.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Appropriate degree with UK PGCE or other teaching qualification granting QTS.
  • Minimum three years of teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum of England and international qualifications such as IGCSE, GCSE, and A Levels.
  • Strong commitment to educating the whole child and promoting student well-being.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
  • Acceptable police checks (or equivalent) from the country of origin and all countries previously worked in.
  • Appropriate references from current and previous employers.

Preferred

  • Experience working in the UK state or independent sector, or internationally.
  • Familiarity with the Harrow School ethos and educational philosophy.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Experience with teaching in a boarding environment.
