The Opportunity:

As a Counselling Supervisor, you will support students on Counselling degree programmes through small group supervision sessions. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to guide and mentor future counsellors, contributing to their professional development and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise groups of 3-4 students during weekly sessions on a Sunday over 9 weeks.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to support students' academic and professional growth.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages open communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor student progress and ensure alignment with programme objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with academic staff to enhance the quality of the Counselling degree programme.
  • Promote the school’s values of inclusivity, diversity, and excellence in all interactions.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain high standards of supervision and support.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care and well-being of students throughout their studies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified counsellor with relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in supervising students or trainees in a counselling or therapeutic setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the values of inclusion, diversity, and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in higher education or sixth form settings.
  • Familiarity with counselling degree programmes and their requirements.
  • Knowledge of anti-racist practices and inclusive education.
  • Experience in group supervision or mentoring.
