The Opportunity:
As a Counselling Supervisor, you will support students on Counselling degree programmes through small group supervision sessions. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to guide and mentor future counsellors, contributing to their professional development and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise groups of 3-4 students during weekly sessions on a Sunday over 9 weeks.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to support students' academic and professional growth.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages open communication and collaboration.
- Monitor student progress and ensure alignment with programme objectives and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with academic staff to enhance the quality of the Counselling degree programme.
- Promote the school’s values of inclusivity, diversity, and excellence in all interactions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain high standards of supervision and support.
- Contribute to the pastoral care and well-being of students throughout their studies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified counsellor with relevant professional experience.
- Experience in supervising students or trainees in a counselling or therapeutic setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the values of inclusion, diversity, and student well-being.
Preferred
- Experience in higher education or sixth form settings.
- Familiarity with counselling degree programmes and their requirements.
- Knowledge of anti-racist practices and inclusive education.
- Experience in group supervision or mentoring.
