The Opportunity:

As a Health and Social Care Teacher, you will play a vital role in preparing students for further study and careers in health and care. You will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of courses, including OCR Cambridge Technical Diplomas and Extended Certificates. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote deep understanding and student progress.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results and preparing for higher education and employment.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources and course materials.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and outstanding learning experience.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
  • Participate in professional development and staff development activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular and enrichment activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or significant work experience in the health and social care sector.
  • Experience in teaching or delivering courses in Health and Social Care at A level or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and anti-racist education practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take responsibility for student outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience with OCR Cambridge Technical qualifications.
  • Experience in teaching both full-time and part-time students.
  • Familiarity with the needs of 16-19 year olds and adult learners.
  • Experience in pastoral support and student welfare.
  • Involvement in extracurricular or enrichment activities.
