The Opportunity:

As a Criminology and Law Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education in Law and Criminology to a diverse group of students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Law and Criminology to A Level and BTEC students.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student understanding and progression.
  • Support students in achieving their academic goals, including preparing them for higher education and future careers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the faculty to enhance the learning experience and maintain high standards of teaching.
  • Participate in staff development and training to continually improve teaching practices and subject knowledge.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care and well-being of students through active involvement in school life and activities.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the fields of Law and Criminology to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and current.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in Law, Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, or an allied subject.
  • Experience in teaching at the sixth form level or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and anti-racist education practices.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level or BTEC Law courses.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and resources.
  • Experience working in a school with a strong emphasis on pastoral care and student well-being.
