The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Finance Manager to provide maternity cover for a key role within the Finance team. This position involves supporting the Finance Director and managing responsibilities such as budgeting, purchasing, payroll, and reporting. The ideal candidate will contribute to the financial stability and strategic goals of a school known for its academic excellence and supportive culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Finance Director in the absence and undertake a wide range of financial management duties.
- Oversee budget management, ensuring accurate reporting and maintaining budgetary controls.
- Manage month-end procedures, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate purchasing and vendor management to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Prepare and present management reports to senior leadership.
- Assist in the implementation of financial systems and processes for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Membership of a recognised professional accountancy body (e.g., ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management, preferably within an educational environment.
- Strong accounting and IT skills with experience in financial systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High standard of written and spoken English.
Preferred
- Experience in a British international school or similar educational institution.
- Familiarity with budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes.
- Leadership experience within a finance or administrative role.
- Knowledge of international financial standards and regulations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive monthly salary of QR 12,731, plus a transportation allowance of QR 155 per month.
- 48 working days of annual leave per year, including public holidays.
