The Opportunity:
As the Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in managing the school’s financial operations and ensuring long-term sustainability. This is a strategic and impactful position that requires leadership, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the not-for-profit education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the school’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
- Develop and implement strategic financial planning to support the school’s mission and long-term goals.
- Lead and manage a dedicated finance team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure effective budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes are in place and followed.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leadership, staff, parents, and external partners.
- Monitor and manage financial risks, ensuring sound financial governance and prudent use of resources.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with the school’s educational vision and priorities.
- Ensure all financial processes are transparent, efficient, and in line with the school’s not-for-profit principles.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within the education sector.
- Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning in a not-for-profit environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation.
- High level of computer literacy and experience with financial software and systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively, with a focus on professional development and support.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Preferred
- Experience in international education or a similar high-profile organisation.
- Knowledge of British curriculum and educational standards.
- Experience with financial systems specific to schools or educational institutions.
- Familiarity with international financial regulations and compliance requirements.
