The Opportunity:

As the Director of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in managing the school’s financial operations and ensuring long-term sustainability. This is a strategic and impactful position that requires leadership, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of the not-for-profit education sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the school’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
  • Develop and implement strategic financial planning to support the school’s mission and long-term goals.
  • Lead and manage a dedicated finance team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure effective budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes are in place and followed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior leadership, staff, parents, and external partners.
  • Monitor and manage financial risks, ensuring sound financial governance and prudent use of resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with the school’s educational vision and priorities.
  • Ensure all financial processes are transparent, efficient, and in line with the school’s not-for-profit principles.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning in a not-for-profit environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation.
  • High level of computer literacy and experience with financial software and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively, with a focus on professional development and support.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Preferred

  • Experience in international education or a similar high-profile organisation.
  • Knowledge of British curriculum and educational standards.
  • Experience with financial systems specific to schools or educational institutions.
  • Familiarity with international financial regulations and compliance requirements.
