The Opportunity:

As Deputy Head of Secondary School, you will play a key leadership role in driving academic success and fostering a positive school culture. This is a strategic position that supports the Head of Secondary and Principal, with a focus on student achievement and school development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the secondary school leadership team to ensure academic excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and implement school-wide strategies to enhance student learning and teacher development.
  • Support the Head of Secondary and Principal in maintaining a high-performing school environment.
  • Oversee curriculum development, ensuring alignment with the English National Curriculum and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, safeguarding, and child protection across the school.
  • Engage with the school community to build strong relationships with parents, students, and staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring high standards of attainment and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the school in external forums and collaborate with other school leaders to share best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and PGCE with QTS or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in senior or middle leadership within an international school.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusive education.
  • Native English speaker with excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a school team effectively.
  • Commitment to academic excellence and student wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Post-graduate qualifications such as a Master’s Degree or higher.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Proven track record of improving student attainment and progress.
  • Experience in leading large-scale school initiatives or strategic projects.
  • Familiarity with international education standards and best practices.
