The Opportunity:

The Assistant Head Senior School (Teaching and Learning) will lead the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across Years 7–13, ensuring all students reach their full potential. This role is central to driving academic excellence, supporting teachers, and implementing school-wide initiatives that enhance learning outcomes for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the Senior School teaching and learning strategy.
  • Promote high standards of teaching and learning across all departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching quality through lesson observations, learning walks, and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Head Senior School (Teaching and Learning) to ensure consistent application of teaching and learning policies.
  • Support the development, delivery, and review of the Senior School curriculum.
  • Assist Heads of Department in curriculum planning and subject development.
  • Ensure curriculum pathways support academic progression and higher education readiness.
  • Support the implementation of assessment frameworks and progress tracking systems.
  • Monitor student attainment and academic progress in collaboration with department heads.
  • Analyze internal and external examination results and support academic intervention programmes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strategic and operational leadership capability.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire diverse teams across all phases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Deep understanding of British curriculum frameworks, inspection standards (KHDA, BSO), and GEMS expectations.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree or National Professional Qualification in Education (NPQ).
