The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic and innovative department. This role offers the chance to shape the future of design education, with a focus on product design and CAD/CAM. The position involves teaching across Key Stages 3 to A Level, with opportunities for cross-curricular collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 to A Level, with a focus on product design.
  • Incorporate modern technologies, including CAD/CAM, into teaching and learning.
  • Support students in developing practical skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
  • Engage in co-curricular activities and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Provide pastoral care and mentorship to students, promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations in Design and Technology.
  • Participate in professional development and school events, including open days and parent meetings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design and Technology and Art.
  • Ability to teach from Key Stage 3 to A Level, with a specialism in product design.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM and current industry practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High standard of written and spoken English.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Art at Key Stage 3.
  • Background in curriculum development or leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with CIE and Pearson A Level specifications.
  • Experience with international schools or cross-cultural environments.
  • Strong track record in student achievement and engagement.
