Join a dynamic and innovative Design & Technology Department where creativity, problem solving, and high aspirations are central to the curriculum. As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will inspire students to explore ideas, develop technical skills, and produce thoughtful, well-crafted outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that motivate pupils to think independently and achieve their best.
  • Support pupils of all abilities, ensuring they feel included, secure, and valued.
  • Teach Design and Technology across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following departmental schemes of work.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and maintain high standards in preparation, marking, and reporting.
  • Participate in pastoral responsibilities, including acting as a Form Tutor or Deputy Form Tutor.
  • Support co-curricular activities, productions, trips, and enrichment opportunities.
  • Engage in professional development, appraisal, and departmental planning.
  • Uphold the school’s values, behaviour policies, and safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree and strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at Key Stage 3 across graphics, textiles, and timbers.
  • Ability to teach Key Stage 4 with a specialism in timbers and polymers.
  • Experience or confidence using computer-aided design and manufacturing technologies.

Preferred

  • A postgraduate teaching qualification with QTS.
  • Experience teaching Product Design at Key Stage 5.
  • Early career teachers with a commitment to professional development.
