The Opportunity:
As the Head of Computing, you will lead a forward-thinking department that inspires students through innovative and application-led teaching. This role is central to the school's mission of fostering creativity, technical ability, and digital literacy across all age groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Computing department, ensuring a high-quality, innovative curriculum aligned with the school's pedagogical ethos.
- Deliver and develop GCSE and A-Level Computer Science courses following the Edexcel and OCR curricula.
- Support the development and operation of the school's Innovation Hub, including CAD machinery, robotics, web design, and Esports.
- Promote diversity and inclusion within the curriculum and across the department.
- Oversee and contribute to extra-curricular computing activities and industry-related opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Digital Strategy and Innovation Faculty to enhance the school's digital and technological vision.
- Ensure the use of state-of-the-art facilities to deliver engaging and impactful lessons.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching Computer Science at both GCSE and A-Level.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in education.
- Ability to design and deliver application-led, innovative computing lessons.
Preferred
- Experience with CAD machinery, robotics, web design, or game design.
- Familiarity with Esports and digital innovation.
- Background in developing and managing extra-curricular computing programs.
- Experience in a school or educational leadership role.
