The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring Art and Design Teacher with Art Textiles to join a thriving Art department. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ creative development and contribute to a school known for its academic and artistic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality Art and Design lessons, including Art Textiles, to students at both GCSE and A Level.
  • Inspire and motivate students through innovative and engaging teaching methods.
  • Support students in achieving academic success and preparing for progression to university or further education.
  • Collaborate with the Art department to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
  • Maintain and develop specialist facilities and resources for Art and Design.
  • Participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, including drama, music, and sport.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through staff development, pastoral care, and professional collaboration.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Art and Design, including Art Textiles.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in the UK education system.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Art and Design.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Experience in delivering GCSE and A Level courses in Art and Design.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting with a strong focus on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  • Experience with digital art and design tools.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience within a school environment.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student welfare.
