As a Product Design Teacher, you will inspire the next generation of creative thinkers and makers. You will play a key role in delivering a future-focused curriculum that fosters practical problem-solving, design thinking, and STEAM integration. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a challenging and innovative Product Design curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and practical problem-solving in the classroom and beyond.
  • Support students in achieving exceptional academic outcomes, including high grades at GCSE and A Level.
  • Lead and contribute to the school's extensive co-curricular programme, including Product Design Club and Futures seminars.
  • Encourage and mentor students in design projects, with a focus on upcycling and creative problem solving.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Creative Visual Arts and Technology Faculty to enhance cross-disciplinary learning.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development opportunities and contribute to the wider GDST network.
  • Engage with the school's award-winning research initiatives and innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Product Design or a related subject.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and achieve excellent student outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of design thinking, CAD/CAM, and practical workshop skills.
  • Experience in developing and leading a curriculum that integrates STEAM principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, or other digital fabrication technologies.
  • Involvement in co-curricular or extracurricular design activities.
  • Experience in preparing students for university and work experience applications.
  • Familiarity with the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship programme.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
