The Opportunity:

A school seeking a passionate and flexible Design & Technology Technician to support the Design & Technology and Art Departments. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop new skills, gain certifications, and contribute to a dynamic and evolving learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of Design & Technology and Art courses through practical and theoretical teaching.
• Maintain and operate a wide range of workshop machinery and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Develop and deliver training in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) software.
• Assist in the preparation of materials and resources for students and staff.
• Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations and risk assessments.
• Participate in the planning and delivery of enrichment activities that support student development.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement and expansion of the school’s Design & Technology facilities.

Required

• A willingness to learn and develop new skills.

• A commitment to supporting student learning and development.
• A strong work ethic and a passion for Design & Technology and Art.

Preferred

• Experience in a similar technician role or within the education sector.
• Knowledge of CAD and CAM software such as 2D Design, Google SketchUp, Blender, and related manufacturing processes.
• Experience in health and safety training and certification.
• An interest in developing personal areas of expertise to inspire students.
