The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver a highly personalised and inclusive education for students with additional needs. You will create engaging learning experiences and work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support each student’s academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), behaviour plans, and EHCP targets tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons across the National Curriculum, using visual supports, sensory strategies, and assistive technology.
  • Track, record, and report on student progress, preparing documentation for annual reviews and contributing to whole-school priorities.
  • Apply trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support students with complex needs, promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with multi-professional teams, including support staff, therapists, and parents, to ensure consistency and effective support.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, manage classroom resources, and ensure compliance with all school policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Preferred

  • Experience adapting SMSC and British Values for pupils with varying cognitive levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with vulnerable pupils and their families
  • A calm, caring nature with high expectations for student growth and development
