The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Design and Technology/Art Technician to support the delivery of practical lessons and ensure a safe and inspiring learning environment. This role is essential in maintaining the school’s high standards of teaching and student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain resources and equipment for Design and Technology/Art lessons.
- Support teaching staff in delivering practical activities and demonstrations.
- Ensure all risk assessments and health and safety protocols are up to date and followed.
- Assist learners and staff in Design and Technology/Art lessons as directed by whole school initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Design Teaching team and other support staff to enhance the learning experience.
- Maintain a calm and respectful environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the overall success of the school’s innovative and employer-led curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a similar technician role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of Design and Technology/Art processes and equipment.
- Ability to follow health and safety procedures and complete risk assessments.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to working in a positive and respectful environment.
- Willingness to support the school’s mission and vision.
Preferred
- Experience working with young people in a school setting.
- Knowledge of current curriculum standards and teaching practices.
- Experience with T-levels or project-based learning.
- Familiarity with employer-led education initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
