The Opportunity:

The Director of Arabic and Islamic Studies will provide strategic leadership for Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History across all campuses. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) standards while promoting innovative teaching and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and implement a strategic vision for Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History across all campuses
• Ensure alignment between MOEHE requirements and the school’s British curriculum model
• Act as the principal liaison with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education
• Design and review a progressive curriculum across all phases (Pre-Prep, Prep, Senior)
• Promote high-quality, engaging, and inclusive teaching practices
• Line manage Heads of Faculty/Section across all campuses
• Implement a rigorous quality assurance framework, including observations and data analysis
• Build strong relationships with the Ministry and represent the school effectively

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A degree in Arabic, Islamic Studies, or a related field
• A recognised teaching qualification
• Significant leadership experience within Arabic and/or Islamic Studies education
• Strong knowledge of MOEHE regulations and inspection frameworks
• Experience leading across multiple schools or phases
• Fluency in both Arabic and English
• Experience within a British international school setting

Preferred

• NPQSL, NPQH, Master’s degree, or equivalent leadership qualification
• Experience with MOEHE inspections and compliance processes
• Curriculum development experience across multiple key stages
