The Opportunity:

As the Director of Sport, you will lead and manage the school’s dynamic and inclusive sports programme. This is a key leadership role that shapes the sporting experience for students aged 11–18, with a focus on strategic development and operational excellence. The role offers the chance to influence the future of sport at a prestigious institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the school’s sports programme.
  • Lead a dedicated team of staff and coaches to deliver high-quality sporting experiences.
  • Oversee the fixtures and events calendar, ensuring a busy and engaging sporting schedule.
  • Develop and grow one of the school’s major sports, with a focus on football.
  • Promote inclusivity and participation across all levels of the school’s sporting community.
  • Support the personal and professional development of sports staff and coaches.
  • Collaborate with academic and pastoral teams to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all sporting activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a sports or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of school sports management and operational procedures.
  • Experience in developing and delivering sports programmes for students aged 11–18.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in football coaching or management.
  • Knowledge of sports development and inclusion strategies.
  • Experience working within a co-educational and boarding school environment.
  • Familiarity with the Inspired Learning Group (ILG) and its educational philosophy.
