The Opportunity:

As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a vibrant and ambitious drama curriculum to students across all age groups. You will be involved in directing productions, leading extra-curricular activities, and contributing to a department known for its high standards and creative excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach drama across the full age range, from Years 7 to 13.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and engage students.
  • Direct and lead drama productions, working closely with students and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the drama curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving excellent GCSE and A-level results.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of co-curricular drama activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the drama department’s impact across the school.
  • Stay up to date with developments in drama education and pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification (with or without a PGCE).
  • Experience in teaching drama or a related subject.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take on leadership responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in directing or producing drama performances.
  • Experience with GCSE and A-level drama teaching.
  • Knowledge of theatre production and technical theatre.
  • Experience with student-led drama initiatives.
