The Opportunity:
As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a vibrant and ambitious drama curriculum to students across all age groups. You will be involved in directing productions, leading extra-curricular activities, and contributing to a department known for its high standards and creative excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach drama across the full age range, from Years 7 to 13.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and engage students.
- Direct and lead drama productions, working closely with students and colleagues.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the drama curriculum.
- Support students in achieving excellent GCSE and A-level results.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of co-curricular drama activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the drama department’s impact across the school.
- Stay up to date with developments in drama education and pedagogy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification (with or without a PGCE).
- Experience in teaching drama or a related subject.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take on leadership responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience in directing or producing drama performances.
- Experience with GCSE and A-level drama teaching.
- Knowledge of theatre production and technical theatre.
- Experience with student-led drama initiatives.
