The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Computing to inspire and educate students from Year 9 to Year 11. This role is ideal for someone with a strong passion for computing and the ability to deliver high-quality lessons using a variety of programming languages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Computing to students across Year 9 to Year 11.
- Prepare and assess coursework in line with AQA and EdExcel specifications.
- Develop and maintain a bespoke curriculum, including Python and theoretical aspects of Computer Science.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills through practical and theoretical learning.
- Collaborate with the Head of Computing to ensure the delivery of a high-standard computing education.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote the subject.
- Stay up to date with industry developments and integrate them into teaching.
- Provide pastoral support to students where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree or higher qualification in Computing or a related field.
- Experience in teaching or a strong academic background with a passion for the subject.
- Ability to code in multiple programming languages.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., MA, MSc, or PGCE).
- Experience in teaching within a selective or independent school setting.
- Familiarity with AQA and EdExcel specifications.
- Experience with curriculum development and delivery.
