Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and knowledge-rich lessons that challenge and inspire students.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly to ensure outstanding outcomes.
- Support the development of a strong and innovative English department.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching standards.
- Provide pastoral care and guidance to students, ensuring their academic and personal well-being.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and senior staff.
- Stay up to date with developments in English education and incorporate new ideas into teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a good honours degree in English or a related subject.
- Experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
- Evidence of outstanding student attainment and classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and the ability to use digital tools in teaching.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Leadership experience or a desire to develop leadership skills.
- Experience in curriculum development or departmental leadership.
