The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Drama Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term contract for the 2026/27 academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and well-resourced Drama and Performing Arts program that plays a central role in the curriculum for girls in Years 3–6.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Drama lessons to girls in Years 3–6 in line with the curriculum.
  • Develop and implement engaging and creative lesson plans that inspire a love of Performing Arts.
  • Manage and maintain a well-resourced and high-spec performance space for student use.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate Drama into cross-curricular activities.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence in students through performance and theatre-based activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, curriculum planning, and school events.
  • Provide feedback and assessment in line with school policies and standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in primary or secondary education.
  • Strong background in Drama and Performing Arts, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Experience teaching Drama as part of a school curriculum.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Ability to work within a team and contribute to a supportive school culture.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching girls in a preparatory school setting.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of theatre and performance techniques.
  • Experience with curriculum development and cross-curricular integration.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Part-time (0.6 FTE) position with term-time only working hours.
