The Opportunity:

A Part-Time Music Teacher is needed to inspire and engage students from Year 1 to Year 8 through dynamic music lessons, choir leadership, and involvement in school events. This role is ideal for someone passionate about music education and committed to student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons for students aged 5–13.
  • Develop students’ abilities in singing, listening, performing, and music theory.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Lead and rehearse school choirs and small ensembles.
  • Prepare students for performances, concerts, and school events.
  • Assist with music for assemblies, celebrations, and other school activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and performing arts initiatives.
  • Support the overall performing arts programme within the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in classroom teaching.
  • Strong musical ability, including vocal or instrumental skills.
  • Confidence in leading choirs and group singing.
  • Ability to motivate and support students of different ages.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience in drama, musical theatre, or school productions.
  • Ability to accompany students or choirs on piano or another instrument.
  • Experience in organising concerts or performances.
