The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Drama Teacher with English to join its high-performing faculty. The role involves teaching Drama to examination level and contributing to the school's vibrant enrichment programme, including staging school productions. The successful candidate will also teach English, with a split of approximately 75% in Drama and 25% in English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Drama to A Level, IB Diploma, and IGCSE standards.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote student achievement and personal development.
  • Contribute to the school's Drama enrichment programme, including the production of school plays and performances.
  • Teach English to students across the 11-14 age range.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop a cohesive and supportive department culture.
  • Support students’ social and personal development through extra-curricular activities and school trips.
  • Stay up to date with current developments and best practices in the teaching of Drama.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities, including after-school meetings and training days.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Drama and English at Secondary level.
  • Ability to teach Drama to examination level (A Level, IB, IGCSE).
  • Experience working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Commitment to fostering strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a collaborative school culture.

Preferred

  • Previous experience teaching in the British system or an international school.
  • Experience with the British curriculum or international education pathways.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular activities and school productions.
  • Experience with professional development and continuous learning in education.
