The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team and support the education and care of children aged 1–4. This role plays a vital part in shaping young minds and ensuring a positive start to learning. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic and nurturing environment that values professional development and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 1–4 in a stimulating and safe environment.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and positive approach to child development and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and development.
  • Support the implementation of policies and procedures related to health, safety, and welfare.
  • Promote positive relationships with parents and carers through regular communication and involvement.
  • Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure the learning environment is clean, well-organised, and safe at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in an Early Years setting.
  • NNEB or NVQ Level 2 qualification in Early Years (Level 3 desirable).
  • A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly on a rotational shift basis (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week).

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or nursery setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and play-based learning.
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • First aid and emergency paediatric first aid qualifications.
