The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in developing students’ musical abilities and fostering a passion for music. You will contribute to a vibrant Performing Arts and P.E. Faculty, delivering high-quality music education across key stages and supporting a range of extra-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative music lessons up to and including GCSE and A Level.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular music activities such as choirs, bands, and ensembles.
  • Support the development of students’ musical skills through individual and group instruction.
  • Maintain and manage music facilities, including practice rooms and technology-equipped music spaces.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Performing Arts and P.E. Faculty to enhance the curriculum and student experience.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continue growing as an educator.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students in all aspects of the role.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in music.
  • Experience in teaching music at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular music groups.
  • Experience with music technology and composition software.
  • Experience with GCSE and A Level music qualifications.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or collaborative educational environment.
