The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to ensure the smooth and compliant operation of the school’s facilities. This role is essential for maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a key holder and implement security procedures for the buildings and grounds
• Provide access to premises and classrooms in the event of emergencies such as snow or flooding
• Receive deliveries of stores, materials, and goods and distribute them to the correct locations
• Support the Caretaking Team in maintaining the school's facilities to a high standard
• Assist in the management of the site during times of increased responsibility, including potential coverage as an Assistant Premises Manager
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors as required
• Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment across the school site

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Previous experience in caretaking or site management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• A positive and proactive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently

Preferred

• Experience in a school or educational setting
• Familiarity with emergency procedures and security systems
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Flexibility to work shift patterns and occasional weekend or evening duties
• Experience with the use of basic tools and equipment
