Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Literature and Language across KS3, KS4, and KS5 to a range of abilities.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote student achievement and enthusiasm for the subject.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, planning, and the sharing of teaching resources.
  • Support students through pastoral care, enrichment activities, and co-curricular programs such as creative writing and debating societies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support to help students reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through professional development, staff training, and leadership opportunities.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in English education and incorporate new teaching methodologies into lessons.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language.
  • Ability to teach across KS3, KS4, and KS5 to a range of abilities.
  • Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with the IB Middle Years Programme or IB Career-related Programme.
  • Experience in co-curricular activities or leadership roles within a school.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL/ESL).
  • Familiarity with digital teaching tools and online learning platforms.
