Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English Literature and Language across KS3, KS4, and KS5 to a range of abilities.
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that promote student achievement and enthusiasm for the subject.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, planning, and the sharing of teaching resources.
- Support students through pastoral care, enrichment activities, and co-curricular programs such as creative writing and debating societies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support to help students reach their full potential.
- Contribute to the wider school community through professional development, staff training, and leadership opportunities.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Stay up to date with best practices in English education and incorporate new teaching methodologies into lessons.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language.
- Ability to teach across KS3, KS4, and KS5 to a range of abilities.
- Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with the IB Middle Years Programme or IB Career-related Programme.
- Experience in co-curricular activities or leadership roles within a school.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL/ESL).
- Familiarity with digital teaching tools and online learning platforms.
