The Opportunity:
As an Assistant Headteacher - Personal Development and Ethos, you will lead the development and delivery of a high-quality Personal Development Curriculum across key stages 3 to 5. This role is pivotal in shaping the character, values, and future pathways of students, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive Personal Development Curriculum, including PSHE, Citizenship, Sex and Relationships, and Careers education.
- Champion and lead on Character Education and Ethos, Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education across the school.
- Monitor and analyse assessment data to measure academic and pastoral attainment, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Heads of Year and senior pastoral leaders to coordinate whole school tutor time programmes.
- Engage with external agencies and other schools to support the school’s vision and ethos.
- Promote and implement a whole school approach to equality, inclusion, and diversity.
- Support the school’s commitment to excellence, justice, and student well-being.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading curriculum development and delivery in a school setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work effectively at senior levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in data management and analysis, with a track record of using data to drive improvement.
- Demonstrable understanding of Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education and related curriculum areas.
- Commitment to equality, inclusion, and diversity in education.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational institution.
- Experience with Character Education and Ethos, Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Education.
- Experience in working with external agencies and other schools to support student development.
- Experience in managing and leading teams of educators and support staff.
