Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students across key stages.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback.
  • Support students in developing literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to English.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider community through pastoral care and enrichment programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3, GCSE, or A level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technology.
  • Experience with pastoral care or student support.
  • Background in music or the arts, given the school’s focus on a music academy.
