Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in History that inspire students and promote a deep understanding of the subject.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the school’s values and academic standards.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support students in extracurricular activities and school trips that enhance their learning experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student performance and engagement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care and community initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A level.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular activities.
  • Experience working in a co-educational setting.
  • Knowledge of school trips and international educational opportunities.
