Teaching Assistant role with a focus on SEMH support and a 4-day working week.

The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in a SEMH setting, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people while benefiting from a 4-day working week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students individually and in small groups, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and maintain a calm classroom environment.
  • Prepare classroom resources and support enrichment trips and school activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapy staff, and pastoral teams.
  • Supervise students during break and lunch periods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a SEMH or specialist setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to supporting students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations.

Preferred

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
