The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting student progress and raising aspirations across all year groups. This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT or experienced teacher to join a supportive and growing department, making a meaningful impact on student learning and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire and challenge students at all levels.
  • Support the development of the school’s curriculum through innovative and creative teaching methods.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise student achievement and aspiration.
  • Provide targeted intervention and support to students across all year groups.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and guidance.
  • Engage with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives and events.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing teacher training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Commitment to student progress and high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in delivering lessons that are engaging and inclusive for all students.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching English as a second language.
  • Background in working with students with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a department.
  • Familiarity with assessment and tracking systems.
  • Previous experience in a school that is part of a multi-academy trust.
