The Opportunity:

We are seeking an English Teacher to join a dynamic and collaborative department. This role is ideal for an Early Career Teacher looking to grow within a supportive and resource-rich environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping students’ learning experiences and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and teach English lessons to meet the academic and personal development needs of students.
  • Follow the Scheme of Work and assessment programme to ensure student progress across all key stages.
  • Monitor and support student progress through collaboration with teaching and support staff.
  • Contribute to the development of syllabuses, materials, and schemes of work.
  • Act as a Form Tutor and carry out related duties, including pastoral care and student support.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school’s teaching and learning strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) status.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching across key stages.
  • Experience with pastoral care or form tutoring.
  • Familiarity with using digital tools in the classroom.
  • Experience in developing and delivering extra-curricular activities.
