The Opportunity:
As a Facilities Assistant, you will ensure the school environment is maintained to the highest standards. This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the school and creating a welcoming space for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all school buildings and grounds.
- Support the planning and development of the premises in collaboration with the head of academy and trust team.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the school.
- Assist with the management of school facilities, including equipment and maintenance.
- Provide a welcoming and professional service to students, staff, and visitors.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the school environment and infrastructure.
- Assist with the organization of school events and activities.
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a facilities or maintenance role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Preferred
- Experience working in an alternative provision setting.
- Knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
- Experience with facility management software or systems.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard hours when necessary.
