The Opportunity:

The Student Services Manager plays a vital role in supporting student well-being and ensuring a positive learning environment. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role, requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a range of pastoral and administrative tasks to support student welfare and engagement.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with students, parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Deliver effective behaviour management strategies, including the use of restorative justice practices.
  • Coordinate support for disadvantaged students and ensure they receive appropriate guidance and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with the school community to promote a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Liaise with external agencies and local authority panels to support student needs.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on student progress and welfare to senior leadership.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or student services role within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience in behaviour management and restorative justice practices.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.

Preferred

  • Experience working with disadvantaged pupils.
  • Knowledge of external agencies and local authority fair access panels.
  • Familiarity with the use of restorative justice practices.
  • Experience in a school setting that is part of a multi-academy trust.
