Summary:

Join a school as a Family Liaison Officer and support safeguarding and family relationships.

The Opportunity:

As a Family Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening home-school relationships and supporting safeguarding processes. You will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads to ensure the well-being and safety of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain strong relationships between families and the school.
  • Work collaboratively with the safeguarding team, including the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads.
  • Develop and implement processes to support family liaison and safeguarding.
  • Provide guidance and support to families in line with safeguarding policies.
  • Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed in accordance with current guidelines.
  • Attend training and meetings to stay up to date with safeguarding best practices.
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall safeguarding culture within the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a busy role with responsibility for developing and maintaining multiple processes, ideally in a schools-based environment.
  • A good standard of general education, including 5 GCSEs or equivalent (Graded 4/C or above), including Maths and English.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to work effectively and empathically with students and families.

Preferred

  • Experience in a safeguarding or family liaison role.
  • Experience working with autistic students.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Experience with child protection and welfare.
