The Opportunity:

As a Finance Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial management and operational HR support. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the academy runs smoothly and in line with Trust policies and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the academy’s financial procedures and HR processes in accordance with Trust policies and statutory requirements.
  • Provide direct and/or administrative support to the Head of Academy in financial and HR matters.
  • Ensure the timely submission of accurate financial, payroll, and recruitment information to central Trust teams.
  • Implement and maintain safer recruitment practices within the academy.
  • Act as the Data Protection Officer Lead where required, ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and Trust policies.
  • Support the effective delivery of HR activities, including staff onboarding and record-keeping.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance and HR processes to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in financial management and HR support within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial procedures, payroll systems, and HR processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data protection legislation and best practices.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational organisation.
  • Experience with safer recruitment practices.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Knowledge of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme or Local Government Pension Scheme.
