The Opportunity:

As a Finance Officer, you will support the Head of Academy in managing the school’s finances and ensuring compliance with procedures. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the school’s financial health and supporting its mission to deliver high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Academy with financial management and reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to financial procedures and deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the central finance department.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing the academy’s budget.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in financial management or administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of school finance systems and procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education sector, particularly within a school or academy trust.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial planning.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including term time only.
