The Opportunity:

As a Gardener - Temporary, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the school’s gardens and grounds, ensuring they meet a high standard of quality and contribute to the overall aesthetic of the campus. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about horticulture and enjoys working as part of a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance the appearance of the school’s gardens and grounds to a high standard.
• Operate electric carts and other ride-on garden machinery as required.
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including mowing, pruning, planting, and weeding.
• Work effectively as part of a team to ensure consistent and cohesive results.
• Plan and execute tasks in accordance with the school’s schedule and seasonal requirements.
• Ensure all work is completed in all weather conditions and to the highest standards.
• Report any issues or concerns with equipment or the grounds to the Head of Grounds and Gardens.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Valid driving licence, with experience in operating electric carts and ride-on garden machinery.
• Proven experience in horticulture or gardening, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong team-working skills and a willingness to collaborate with others.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of work and appearance.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a similar role within an educational institution.
• Knowledge of sustainable gardening practices and plant care.
• Experience in planning and executing large-scale garden maintenance projects.
