Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective Geography lessons aligned with the National Curriculum of England and the Hong Kong Secondary Geography Curriculum.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes mutual respect and academic excellence.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and student engagement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and contribute to the overall success of the school.
- Promote equality of opportunity and encourage excellence, resourcefulness, and perseverance among students.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in any field.
- Appropriate secondary education teacher training in Geography, with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
- Working experience and knowledge of the Secondary Geography Curriculum issued by the CDCHK or the National Curriculum of England.
- Proficiency in English for teaching purposes.
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
- Acceptable personal and professional background checks, including an International Child Protection Certificate and/or police checks.
Preferred
- Experience with the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into Geography teaching.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
